Spitalfield bring their emo twist on pop-rock live at The Joiners, with support from Jonah Matranga, Jon Walker and Gambling With Dogs.
Spitalfield play The Joiners on Saturday 10 October, bringing their emo take on pop-rock to Southampton. They're the main draw of the night, but the bill is a full one, with Jonah Matranga, Jon Walker and Gambling With Dogs all on the same ticket.
Spitalfield are an emo rock outfit from Chicago, formed back in 1998. Their sound draws on alternative and indie music, and they describe it as having a pop sensibility and raw energy. If you've never heard them, that's a fair place to start: pop-rock with an emo edge, and a long history behind it.
Joining them is Jonah Matranga, a singer, songwriter and guitarist who has put out solo material under his own name and as onelinedrawing, and was part of Far, New End Original and Gratitude. Then there's Jon Walker, a musician and producer who is half of The Young Veins and was formerly in Panic! At The Disco. And Gambling With Dogs, a four-piece alternative/emo band from Manchester who describe their sound as blending loud, in-your-face instrumentals with delicate melody.

Between the four of them, the night covers a lot of ground: Chicago emo rock, Matranga's solo work and his time in Far, Walker's history with Panic! At The Disco and The Young Veins, and the Manchester-based alternative rock of Gambling With Dogs. It's a packed bill for a single evening.
Doors open at 7:00pm at The Joiners, and tickets are £22.00, which includes the booking fee.
