Spiral Drive

Spiral Drive are playing Heartbreakers on Thursday 3 September, with Lana Death Ray and School Disco on the bill. It's a triple bill, so there's more than just the headliners to get through before the night wraps up.

Spiral Drive come from Mannheim, Germany, and they're touring their latest album, REISE, which came out on 17 July 2026. It's a fresh release, so the set will draw heavily from it. One reviewer described REISE as one of the most exciting and entertaining neo-psych-kraut-rock records of recent years, and recommended it for fans of Dummy and Spacemen 3. If those names ring a bell, you've got a good idea of where the sound sits: sprawling, hypnotic, and leaning into the long-form, repetitive grooves that defined the krautrock era, with the psychedelic textures of the late-eighties and nineties psych-rock scene layered on top. It's music that takes its time to unfold rather than rushing to a chorus.

Lana Death Ray and School Disco open the night, so the evening starts well before Spiral Drive take the stage. With three bands on the bill, the music will run across the whole night, and the headliners' set will be the final act of the evening. If you're coming for the main act, you'll have two other sets to work through first.
