Animated film in which Peter Parker faces a physical evolution and a new pattern of crimes, shown at Harbour Lights Picturehouse.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is showing at Harbour Lights Picturehouse in Ocean Village, Southampton, on Thursday 13 August. It's the latest Spider-Man story to hit the big screen, and this one finds Peter Parker devoting his life to protecting New York City as a full-time Spider-Man.
As the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he's ever faced. It's a double-edged sword for Peter: the more he pushes himself to protect the city, the more his own body becomes a liability, all while a new wave of crime builds into something he's not quite prepared for. If you've followed the character's history, the 'Brand New Day' title points to a fresh start, and the plot seems to lean into that—a new status quo where the stakes are as much about Peter's survival as they are about the villains he's fighting.

The venue is Harbour Lights Picturehouse, a two-screen cinema and bar in Ocean Village overlooking the harbour. It's got both indoor and outdoor seating, and it's dog-friendly, so you can bring your four-legged companion along if you're not heading out on your own. Beyond the main screens, there's a Picturehouse membership for regulars, cheaper tickets on 'Happy Mondays', a Kids' Club and Toddler Time for the smaller ones, and an outdoor cinema presented by Ribena. If you're planning to make a proper evening of it, the bar is right there, and the harbour view is a nice bonus before or after the film. The showing is on Thursday 13 August, so keep that date in mind if you're planning your week.
