Explosive electronic duo Omega Nebula transcend traditional dub and reggae at The Joiners, with special guest Sublifter.
Omega Nebula are back at The Joiners on Friday 16 October, their first Southampton date this autumn. They're an electronic duo playing live, and the set is billed as a dance-floor experience of musical healing. They describe their sound as pushing past the boundaries of traditional dub and reggae, so it's less about staying within those forms and more about where they can take them.
Support comes from Sublifter, a collaboration between two established acts, Subgiant and The Uplifter. Subgiant have toured across the UK and Europe and played festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival, Beautiful Days, Victorious, All Points East and Womad. The Uplifter has toured further afield, taking in New Zealand, Australia and the US. Together they describe their sound as an electrifying fusion of future dub, dub and reggae. Two singles, 'Unspeakable' and 'Shiink', are already out, and a debut album, Trespass, is currently in production.

Between the two acts, the night stays in that dub and reggae territory, though both push it into electronic and future-facing ground. It's a 16+ night, with 14-year-olds welcome if they're accompanied by an adult over 21. Tickets are £18.70, and the music runs from 7:00pm to 11:00pm at The Joiners, 141 St Mary St, Southampton SO14 1NS.
