A filmed live performance of the National Theatre production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, starring Lesley Manville and Aidan Turner, presented at Showcase Southampton.
Showcase Southampton is screening Les Liaisons Dangereuses on Sunday 28 June, a National Theatre Live broadcast of the stage production. It's a filmed version of the play, so you're watching a performance captured at the National Theatre in London rather than a cinema movie, and it's being shown on the big screen in the Westquay Shopping Centre.

The play is Christopher Hampton's adaptation of the novel Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, and this particular production was directed by Marianne Elliott. It's a story set among the super-rich, where a single slip-up can mean total ruin. The Marquise de Merteuil is a master of survival, and together with the magnetic Vicomte de Valmont, she turns seduction into a calculated strategy. It's a game of power and manipulation played out in the drawing rooms of the French aristocracy.
On stage are two big names. Lesley Manville, who won a BAFTA for Phantom Thread, plays the Marquise, and Aidan Turner, known from Rivals, takes on Valmont. If you've seen either of them before, you'll know they're both heavyweights, and here they're playing opposite each other in a story that's all about the chemistry and the clash between two people who think they're the smartest ones in the room.
It's a paid cinema screening, so you'll need a ticket. The session runs from 13:00 to 17:10 on Sunday 28 June at Showcase Southampton, in the Westquay Shopping Centre, SO15 1QF.
