Minions & Monsters is playing at Showcase Cinema De Lux in the West Quay Shopping Centre, and it's one of those films that runs all through the week, so you've got plenty of slots to choose from. The story follows the Minions as they set off on a journey to find frightening creatures to star in their monster movie, but after unleashing them upon an unsuspecting world, they have to race to save the day. It's exactly the kind of thing that works as a family outing, especially with the Minions at the centre of it.

Because it's showing every day, you can fit it around your own schedule rather than working your day around a single time. On Fridays and Saturdays, there are screenings at 09:00 and 14:00. Sunday is a bit different, with a single showing at 09:40. Monday and Tuesday are the busiest days, with three sessions: 09:30, 11:45, and 14:00. Wednesday has 12:15 and 14:30, and Thursday runs at 10:00 and 12:20. If you're taking the kids, the morning slots are usually the easiest bet.

Tickets are £8.90 to £11.40, and there are a few ways to bring that down: OAP and NUS tickets are £7.95 to £8.95, under 15s are £7.45 to £7.95, and military is £7.50 with a valid ID. If you're going as a group, there's a family ticket for £30. For the better seats, the gallery is £16.40. Keep in mind that XPlus films add £3, 3D films add £2, and 3D glasses are £1 extra. You'll find the cinema on Level 4 of the West Quay Shopping Centre, so it's right in the middle of things if you're already heading into town.
