
A live-action adventure film where Prince Adam returns to Eternia to save his world from the rule of Skeletor, joining forces with allies Teela and Duncan/Man-At-Arms.
Masters of the Universe opens at Showcase Cinema de Lux on Saturday 27 June, with screenings running through to 2 July. It's a live-action take on the franchise, and the story follows Prince Adam, who's been away from his home for fifteen years. The Sword of Power leads him back to Eternia, where he finds the world shattered under the rule of Skeletor, played by Jared Leto. To save his family and his world, Adam teams up with Teela and Duncan, also known as Man-At-Arms, played by Idris Elba, and embraces his destiny as He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe.

Showcase is in the Westquay Shopping Centre (SO15 1QF), so it's easy enough to get to if you're already in town. Standard tickets run from £8.90 to £11.40, with OAP and NUS rates between £7.95 and £8.95, and under-15s from £7.45 to £7.95. There's a military rate of £7.50 with a valid ID, a gallery ticket at £16.40, and a family ticket for £30. If you go for an XPlus screening, there's a £3 supplement, and 3D adds £2, plus another £1 for 3D glasses. It's a paid event, so you'll need to book ahead if you're planning a specific time.
