Leviticus

Leviticus screens at Showcase Cinema de Lux on Friday 4 September, the debut feature from director Adrian Chiarella. It's a horror that follows two teenage boys who have to escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most: each other. That's the core of it, and it's a twist that turns the whole thing on its head, so it's worth keeping in mind as you watch it unfold.

The film runs for 88 minutes and carries a 15 certificate, which gives you a fair idea of where it sits. It's not a slow-burn that holds back until the end; it's a lean, focused piece of work that gets straight to the point. Chiarella's debut puts the focus on the two boys and the thing hunting them, and the whole thing stays tight around that central idea.

If you're heading down, the cinema is at Level 4, Westquay South, Southampton, SO15 1DE. There are two showtimes on the night: 19:20 and 22:00, so you can take your pick of an earlier run or a late one. Leviticus is 88 minutes long, directed by Adrian Chiarella, and carries a 15 certificate.
