Klamp

Klamp play Heartbreakers on Saturday 22 August, a one-off gig in the venue's compact room. They're an experimental collective that pulls from Krautrock, Industrial, Noise Rock, Breakcore and Post-Punk, and the set will see them working through their songs in a small space that keeps the attention firmly on the group.

It's a formidable line-up. The group now numbers seven, having grown from a trio over the last four years, with members scattered across the UK and the Netherlands. The current line-up draws on current and former members of IDLES, Sex Swing, Tall Ships, Manatees, Do Me Bad Things, Pulled Apart By Horses, Petbrick and Mugstar. That's a wide-ranging heritage to pull from, and it's where the band's sound gets its mix of influences — from the heavy, rhythmic drive of post-punk and industrial to the more abrasive edges of noise rock and breakcore.

Because it's a one-off show in an intimate setting, the focus stays on the band as they move through the set. The venue's small room means you're close to the action, and with seven people on stage, there's a lot to take in. It's a good way to hear how those different threads — the motorik pulse of Krautrock, the grit of industrial, the jaggedness of noise rock — actually sit together in a live room.
