Indian Tea Dance

Caraway Charity is hosting an Indian Tea Dance at St Denys Church Centre on Tuesday 6 October, from 2pm to 4pm. It's an afternoon that puts Indian and British cultures on the same table, with the food and the music doing the heavy lifting.

On the food side, it's a bit of a crossover. You'll find a chai latte sitting alongside a cream tea, and the spread runs from bhajis to scones, sandwiches and cake. It's the kind of mix where you can have a savoury Indian snack and a classic British tea treat in the same sitting, rather than picking one or the other. The music follows the same lead, with Bollywood dancing on the go to keep the afternoon moving.

Caraway Charity is the organisation behind it, and they've described the whole thing as a way to blend Indian and British cultures into a single afternoon. It's a charity event, so the food and the dancing are all part of a wider effort to raise money for their work.

It runs from 2pm to 4pm on Tuesday 6 October at St Denys Church Centre, Dundee Road, St Denys, Southampton, and costs £5 per person.
