A woman seeks solace with her in-laws as they transform into deadites in this horror film screening.
Evil Dead Burn is playing at Showcase Cinema De Lux in the West Quay Shopping Centre, with screenings running from Friday 17 July to Thursday 23 July. It's a horror flick that takes the Evil Dead name and runs with it, and if you've got a soft spot for the series, this is the one to catch while it's in town.
The story starts with a woman who, after losing her husband, goes to stay with her in-laws for a bit of solace. It doesn't stay peaceful for long, though. One by one, they start transforming into deadites, and as the house descends into chaos, she discovers that the vows she took in life survive even in death. It's that classic Evil Dead setup—family gathered in one place, things going horribly wrong, and a lot of gore on the way.
Showcase is on Level 4 of West Quay, so it's right in the middle of the shopping centre, which makes it an easy one to fit in around a day of errands or a meal nearby. The run goes from Friday 17 July through to Thursday 23 July, so you've got a full week to pick a time that works for you rather than rushing to see it on a single night.
