Disclosure Day

Disclosure Day is screening at Harbour Lights Picturehouse in Ocean Village, Southampton, on Sunday 5 July. It's a Steven Spielberg film, and the premise is one of those big, open-ended questions: what would actually happen if we discovered we weren't alone in the universe? It's a 12A, so it's fine for a family outing, and it runs for 145 minutes — just under two and a half hours.

The cast is a heavy one. Emily Blunt and Colin Firth lead it, with Colman Domingo and Josh O'Connor in there too. If you're a fan of any of them, that's a fair few names to pull you in, and they're all working under Spielberg, who's known for exactly this kind of high-concept, human-scale storytelling. Between the cast and the director, there's plenty to go on before you've even seen a frame.

As for the venue, Harbour Lights is a two-screen cinema and bar in Ocean Village, overlooking the marina. It's dog-friendly, has indoor and outdoor seating, and runs a kids' club and Toddler Time, so it's built for more than just the late-night crowd. They screen a broad mix — current blockbusters, family favourites, independent gems, cult classics, and world cinema — and there's a bar and café on site to hang around in before or after your film. They also run an outdoor screening programme presented by Ribena.

The screening starts at 19:45, so it's an evening slot. If you're planning to make a night of it, you've got the bar and café right there, and the marina is just outside the door.
