Coyote vs. Acme

Coyote vs. Acme screens at Harbour Lights Picturehouse on Tuesday 13 October, with the film starting at 5pm. It's a new one for the cinema, and the premise is as absurd as it sounds: Wile E. Coyote, after decades of being blown to bits by bombs, demolished by dynamite, mangled by magnets, battered by boulders, trampled by trains, tricked by tunnels, sprung by springs and steamrolled by steamrollers, finally fights back.

He doesn't go it alone, though. He teams up with Kevin Avery, a billboard accident lawyer played by Will Forte, to take on Buddy Crane, the slick corporate counsel played by John Cena, and ACME, Inc. itself — the profit-obsessed conglomerate behind every one of the Coyote's chaotic catastrophes. It's a courtroom battle on a grand scale, with the most famous loser in cartoon history finally getting his day in court.

Harbour Lights is a two-screen cinema and bar in Ocean Village, overlooking the marina, and it runs a broad programme: current blockbusters and family favourites sit alongside independent gems, cult classics and world cinema. There's a café-bar on site for before or after the show, so you can grab a drink and a bite to eat without having to leave the building. The cinema is at Maritime Walk, Ocean Village, SO14 3TL, Southampton, and the screening starts at 5pm on Tuesday 13 October.
