A high-energy comedy night featuring improv, work-in-progress sets, open mic and a Gong Show, hosted by The Attic.
The Attic hosts another Comedy Rodeo on Wednesday 9 September, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It's part of a regular run — the venue transforms into a comedy club every third Wednesday, so if you miss this one, there's another coming along a few weeks later. The night is run by the Southampton Comedy Club, and it's built around a broad mix of acts rather than a single headliner.
That mix is where the night gets its name. The bill pulls together a few different styles of comedy in one go: improv, work-in-progress sets from comedians fine-tuning new material, an open mic for new and established voices, and a fast-paced, unpredictable Gong Show. Because it's an open mic night, you'll hear a range of experience on the same stage, from seasoned performers to people just starting out. The work-in-progress side of things means you're often catching bits of a set while they're still being shaped, and the Gong Show adds a bit of a gamble to the proceedings.
If you're a comedian yourself, stand-up slots are available upon request, so you can get on the bill as well as watch it. For everyone else, seating is unreserved, and the room is 16+, with under-18s required to be accompanied by an adult. It's aimed at comedy fans and stand-up enthusiasts, with the night curated to keep the laughs coming across the different formats.
