Rhys James brings his comedy show Chop Logic to Mayflower Studios on Wednesday 21 October, with the performance taking place in Studio 1 on Above Bar Street. It's a single-night stop in Southampton, and if you've come across his name before, you'll recognise him as a comedian who's been working the circuit since 2009.
He cut his teeth on the student competitions that usually launch a career, like Comedy Central's Funniest Student in 2010 and Chortle's Student Comedy Award. His Edinburgh debut came that same year at The Pleasance Comedy Reserve, and he returned to the fringe in 2012 at AAA-Stand Up. Since then, he's written for Russell Howard's Good News and become a regular on the television and radio circuits: he's a star of TLC's Mock The Week and BBC Radio 4's Rhysearch, and has appeared on QI and Live At The Apollo. There's also a viral U&Dave lecture in the mix, I Stalk Strangers Online, which gives a fair hint of where his head is at.
The reviews have been high praise. Richard Osman has called him 'one of the funniest men in the world', The Times described his stand-up as 'scintillating', and Edinburgh Festivals Magazine went for the more visceral 'snort uncontrollably and pee your pants funny'. Between the sharp writing and the long run of credits, there's plenty of ground he's covered before this one.

On the night, the show runs for about an hour and 50 minutes including an interval, so it's a full evening rather than a quick set. Tickets are £21.75, and the venue advises the show is strictly 14+ and may contain strong language. It starts at 8:00pm in Studio 1 at Mayflower Studios, Above Bar Street, SO14 7DU.
