An energetic music and movement activity for toddlers, babies and preschool children under five, with parents and carers, using props like ribbons and musical instruments.
Boogie in the Barn is back at Hanger Farm Arts Centre on Thursday 10 September, with sessions following on the 17th and 24th. It's a music and movement activity for toddlers, babies and preschool children under five, and you go with them, so it's one of those things you do together rather than one you drop them off for.
The whole thing takes place inside Hanger Farm's converted 18th-century timber barn, which is where it gets its name. The sessions run on nursery rhymes, popular family songs and world music, and they're paired with hands-on props like ribbons, play parachutes, musical instruments and bubbles. It's built to support early years physical coordination, social confidence and creative expression, so it's as much about moving around as it is about the music.
It's not a one-off, either. The sessions run on select Thursday mornings during the August summer holidays and the autumn term, and these September dates are part of that autumn run. If you've got a little one under five, you can take them to one or come back for all three. Advance booking is recommended, so it's worth getting your spot sorted before you head down.
