A major running event on the South Coast with over 10,000 runners, team challenges, volunteering opportunities and charity fundraising.
The ABP Southampton Marathon Festival returns to Dock Gate 8, City Cruise Terminal on Sunday 11 April 2027. It's grown into one of the South Coast's biggest running events, with over 10,000 runners taking part and more than £4.5 million raised for charity over the years. The festival celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025, and with a five-year partnership between Associated British Ports and ReesLeisure, it's set to keep running through to 2030.
There's a few ways to get involved beyond just the race itself. You can run for charity, take on team challenges, or volunteer if you'd rather be on the sidelines. There's also an after party with live music for when the running is done.

Charity is a big part of it. Southampton Hospitals Charity is the lead local partner, and they're joined by Solent Mind, Macmillan Cancer Support and the University of Southampton, which comes on as the Culture Partner. If you're running, you can pick one of those to support, or bring your own cause. The event is based at Dock Gate 8 in the City Cruise Terminal, right by the water.
