SIX at Mayflower Theatre: dates, tickets and what to expect

If you have not yet caught SIX, the pop-concert musical about Henry VIII's six wives is coming to Southampton's Mayflower Theatre for a short run from Tuesday 27 to Saturday 31 October 2026. Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, the show reimagines the Tudor queens as a singing competition, with each wife fighting for the spotlight. It has picked up 26 international awards along the way, including a Tony for Best Original Score and Best Costume Design, and it took home three WhatsOnStage Awards as Best West End Show.

One of the most practical things to know is the length: it runs about an hour and twenty minutes straight through, with no interval. That makes it an easy one to slot into an evening, and it is recommended for ages 10 and up, with children under two not admitted. It is worth flagging the content before you book, though: the production uses flashing lights, theatrical fog, loud music and strobe effects, and the script deals with adult themes, including miscarriage and physical and sexual trauma.

Tickets start at £55, and there is a fair bit of room to bring the price down if you are booking for a group or hold a membership. Executive members get 20% off two tickets on the opening night of Tuesday 27 October, or £6 off a ticket in the two higher price zones on other dates; Executive Plus members get 20% off four tickets on the opening night, or £6 off two tickets in those same zones. Groups of ten or more get £5 off, and groups of twenty or more get £6 off plus one free ticket for every twenty paid. School and youth groups of ten or more can get all tickets at £19.50 for Tuesday to Thursday performances, with one free supervisor for every twenty paid. Access members get £5 off, which includes zone E. Most of these offers do not apply to Friday and Saturday performances, and none cover zone E unless specifically stated, so they are worth checking against your chosen date.

There is also an accessible option built into the run. On Thursday 29 October at 6:30pm, the theatre holds a Touch Tour, which includes an audio description of the show before the performance. For anyone who has not been before, the Mayflower Theatre sits on Commercial Road, Southampton, SO15 1GE. It is a well-known stop on the UK touring circuit, and SIX is one of the more compact shows it takes in, so it is an easy one to plan around. With the run only five nights long, it is the sort of thing that fills up, so it is worth sorting tickets sooner rather than later if you want a specific night.
