Halloween fundraiser for the Sheffield Electrolysis Project with a bake sale and stalls downstairs and a punk and hardcore gig upstairs.
Witches Brew takes over Shakespeare's on Saturday 31 October, a Halloween fundraiser for the Sheffield Electrolysis Project. It's a long day that splits into two distinct halves, so you can drop in for one or stay for both.
The afternoon starts downstairs from 2pm with a bake sale and stalls filling the room. If you're just in for the cakes and the browsing, that's your window. From 6.30pm, the focus shifts upstairs for a punk and hardcore gig, with Daughters of the Flaming Sword, Under the Influence, and Justice for Lilith taking the stage. Between the bands, there's a Queer Brewing tap takeover running, so the beer will be as much a part of the night as the music.

Because it's a fundraiser, the whole thing is about raising money for the Sheffield Electrolysis Project, so the bake sale and the gig are both working towards the same pot. If you're around in the afternoon, you can start with the stalls and then head upstairs when the music kicks in, or just show up later for the bands. The venue is Shakespeare's, 146-148 Gibraltar Street, Sheffield S3 8UB. Bake sale and stalls from 2pm; punk and hardcore gig upstairs from 6.30pm.
