The Sound of Modesty and Layen co-headline their UK tour at Network in Sheffield City Centre.
The Sound of Modesty play Network on Friday 6 November, as part of their UK co-headline tour. They're sharing the bill with Layen, so you'll get two acts on the one night. The show runs from 7:00pm to 11:00pm at Network, 14 Matilda St, in the city centre.
The Sound of Modesty is a Leeds and Bristol alt-rock project that BBC Introducing has placed alongside a new generation of rock bands like Bad Omens and Spiritbox. Their sound pulls from alternative rock, heavy metal and avant-garde influences, and they've built a following around the EP A Thousand Dreams. That followed the 2024 single 'Safe in Your Arms', a heavy ballad that's picked up more than 500,000 streams. Other tracks worth knowing are 'Not Spring' and the six-minute 'No Face'.
They've been playing across the UK for a few years now. They opened the weekend at Liverpool Sound City in 2021 and appeared on Apple Music's Creative London Studios line-up that same year. In 2023 they supported Tricot on their UK tour, and earlier this year they opened the second day of Strangeforms Festival. This Sheffield date is part of their UK co-headline tour, so they're sharing the top of the bill rather than playing as a sole headliner.
