NIHL National ice hockey fixture between Sheffield Steeldogs and Basingstoke Bison at Bauer Arena.
Sheffield Steeldogs take on Basingstoke Bison at iceSheffield (Bauer Arena) on Sunday 21 November, a National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) fixture that falls about two months into the new season.
The game is part of the 2026/27 Planet Ice NIHL campaign, which got underway on Friday 18 September. It's a season with a few things to keep track of: Solway IHC have joined as the league's newest franchise, playing their first NIHL home game against the Steeldogs in Dumfries, and the reigning champions, the Swindon Wildcats, are currently defending their title. If you're following the league as a whole, there's a play-off run coming later on, stretching across the weekend of 27 and 28 March 2027.
That play-off run leads to the Final 4 at the Coventry Skydome on the weekend of 17 and 18 April 2027, so this November clash is one of the regular-season games that helps determine who makes the cut. The Steeldogs are playing at home here, at the Bauer Arena in Sheffield, with the Bison making the trip up from Basingstoke.
