Family-friendly 5K festive fun run with fancy dress, organised by Sheffield Mind to raise funds for mental health services in South Yorkshire.
Sheffield Mind is hosting the Mental Elf Festive Fun Run at Gulliver's Valley on Saturday 21 November, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. It's a 5K run through the resort, and as the name suggests, it's all about the festive side of things rather than the competitive one. The whole day is run by Sheffield Mind, the mental health charity that provides emotional and practical support to people across the city, and they're staging it alongside other Minds in South Yorkshire, including Rotherham and Barnsley Mind and Doncaster Mind.
That's the main thing to keep in mind: this isn't a race in the traditional sense. There are no personal bests to beat and no finishing times recorded, so you can walk, jog or run at whatever pace suits you. It's open to everyone, whether you're running, walking, jogging or rolling, and it's designed to be family-friendly. Festive fancy dress is encouraged, with elf costumes and reindeer antlers on the day, though there's one request: please don't dress up as Santa, as they're leaving that role to the real star of the show. Dogs aren't permitted.
The money raised goes towards better mental health services across the local community, so it's a way to get out and move while supporting the work Sheffield Mind and its partners do across South Yorkshire. If you're coming with a group, there's a fundraising running group option for up to eight people that's free to enter.

The run takes place at Gulliver's Valley Resort on Mansfield Road, S26 5QW, on Saturday 21 November, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.
