Arkansas folksinger Willi Carlisle performs live on his Universal Bubba Tour, featuring traditional folk songs and original material.
Willi Carlisle plays Tractor Tavern on Thursday, December 10, as part of his Universal Bubba Tour. He's an Arkansas folksinger who describes his music as a dance between absurdity, spectacle and philosophy, rooted in traditional folk and populated by oddball characters. Amelia Day opens the bill.
Carlisle is touring his fourth studio album, Winged Victory, which came out on June 27 via Signature Sounds. It's his first self-produced record, following 2022's Peculiar, Missouri and 2024's Critterland. The album includes covers of traditional folk songs, including Richard Thompson's "Beeswing."
The Seattle date is one stop on the Universal Bubba Tour, and the set will draw from Winged Victory alongside the older material. Carlisle's work stays close to traditional folk, but he frames it around those oddball characters and the mix of the absurd and the philosophical he's known for. Amelia Day opens the night, so there's a full bill before the main set.
