A Tony-nominated musical based on Sara Gruen's novel, featuring circus acrobatics, clowns and aerialists.
Water For Elephants is playing the Paramount Theatre on Friday, October 9, at 8 PM. It's part of the North American Tour, which runs through Seattle from October 6 to 11, so if Friday doesn't work, you've got a few other nights to choose from.
The show is based on Sara Gruen's bestselling novel, with a book by Rick Elice and music and lyrics by PigPen Theatre Co. It's set inside a traveling circus and brings in actual circus elements—clowns, aerialists, and jugglers on stage—rather than just talking about them. The production earned seven Tony Award nominations in 2024, including Best Musical, and is directed by Tony nominee Jessica Stone. Zachary Keller plays Jacob Jankowski and Helen Krushinski plays Marlena.
