Concert by the British a cappella vocal ensemble VOCES8 at Meany Hall for the Performing Arts.
VOCES8 are playing Meany Hall for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, February 16, 2027, at 7:30 PM. They're a British vocal ensemble that works across a wide range of styles, from pure a cappella concerts to collaborations with other musicians, orchestras, and conductors. The group is the flagship ensemble of the VOCES8 Foundation, which promotes 'Music Education For All' and reaches up to 40,000 people a year.
Their discography gives you a good sense of where they've been. Their most recent album, Nightfall, came out in September 2024. Before that, they put out A Choral Christmas and the Grammy-nominated The Lost Birds. They've also worked with other names in the field: Home was conducted by Eric Whitacre, and Christopher Tin also has a record titled The Lost Birds in their catalog. The ensemble was Grammy-nominated in 2023, and they keep a couple of regulars on the payroll: Ken Burton is their composer-in-residence and Jim Clements is their arranger-in-residence.
If you're not familiar with them, the a cappella side of their work is the core—just voices, no instruments. The collaborations are where they branch out, bringing in orchestras and other musicians to build around that vocal foundation. Between the new material from Nightfall and the older records, there's a fair amount of ground they cover.
