Vincent Antone plays Substation on Friday, October 16, with special guest Noetika and support from Willdabeast. Antone is an Austin, Texas-based producer and multi-instrumentalist whose sound pulls from funk, hip hop, soul, and bass. He's been playing guitar for more than 20 years, drums for 15, and piano and bass for 10, and that background still shapes how he writes and performs. Live, he plays guitar and keys, joined by drummer Jose Gutierrez.
His style covers future funk, hip hop, future bass, house, and trap. He's also a member of the future funk group Resonant Frequency and the rock and roll band Mamafesta. He's played festivals and venues across the country, including Austin City Limits, Hulaween, Envision, Wakarusa, Breakaway, Utopiafest, Offbeat, Elements, Kaaboo, and Euphoria, and has shared the stage with Griz, Clozee, Levity, Pretty Lights, Gramatik, Opiuo, Cherub, Steve Aoki, RJD2, Goldfish, Herobust, and The Nappy Roots. His music has accumulated millions of streams, and his remixes are fan favorites of the electro hip hop and funk bass scene.
