Concert by the songwriting project This Is Lorelei (Nate Amos) on his 'The Singer In My Band' tour, a 21+ event.
This Is Lorelei plays Neumos on Wednesday, October 21, as part of The Singer In My Band tour. The name is a moniker for Nate Amos, who also goes by Colin Miller—a songwriter who has put out records as a solo artist and as part of the band Water From Your Eyes.
His 2024 album, Box for Buddy, Box for Star, was his first full-length solo work written with intention. It deals with his newfound sobriety through a tongue-in-cheek take on musical personas, and it later grew into a deluxe version featuring covers and collaborations from MJ Lenderman, Hayley Williams, Jeff Tweedy, and Cameron Winter. The project was known for a long time only to a close-knit group of creatives in Chicago, where he moved in his early twenties and produced hundreds of albums and EPs before relocating to New York.
That Chicago period explains why the project stayed under the radar for so long; it was a private output shared among friends rather than a public-facing career. Box for Buddy, Box for Star changed that, taking those internal conversations about sobriety and persona and turning them into a proper record. This Seattle date is one stop on The Singer In My Band tour, which brings that material to the stage.
