Live music night featuring The W Lovers, Wes Urbaniak and the Mountain Folk, and Church of Brunch at Blue Moon Tavern.
The W Lovers, Wes Urbaniak and the Mountain Folk, and Church of Brunch are all playing Blue Moon Tavern on Thursday, October 8. It's a three-act bill, with Church of Brunch taking the main slot and Wes Urbaniak opening the night.
Church of Brunch is a Seattle cover band that works the local circuit, playing spots like Obec Brewing, Sunset Tavern, and Sheridan Market. They describe their sets as hearty portions of retro rock and Americana, so expect a night built around familiar territory rather than new material. If you've seen them around the city before, you know the general idea: a wide-reaching pull from the rock and roots songbooks.
Opening the night is Wes Urbaniak, a singer-songwriter from Livingston, Montana. His music is rooted in mountain folk and draws from bluegrass, Americana, pop-folk, and beatboxing. On stage, he plays guitar, an 8-string ukulele, and beatboxes. He's also a luthier who builds instruments from reclaimed Red Rock Amphitheatre benches and pianos over a century old, so there's a bit of a maker's tradition behind the gear he brings with him.
