Open studio evening with woodblock printmaking, vinyl listening session, and drop-in art activities as part of the museum's Member Night.
The Studio at SAM is taking over the fourth floor of the Seattle Art Museum on Thursday, October 15, from 4 to 8 PM. The evening is built around woodblock printmaking, with artist Fulgencio Lazo leading the way. It's an open studio night, which means you can watch Lazo work and then pull your own prints right there in the museum's print shop.
That's not the only thing happening. The museum's gallery is being turned into a lounge for the night, where a vinyl listening session runs alongside the printmaking. There are also drop-in art activities, so you can move between watching, making, and listening however you like.
The whole thing is part of the museum's Member Night, which runs on second Thursdays from October through December. On those nights, SAM members gather on the fourth floor for this kind of mix of hands-on making and gallery performances. If you're a member, this is one of those evenings you can drop into without a set schedule.
