A low-pressure social gathering for introverts to meet people, with options to dance, craft, or bring a partner, curated by Jenna Bean Veatch.
The Not-Creepy Gathering is back at Fremont Abbey Arts Center on Saturday, October 10, from 8 PM to 10 PM. It's one of Jenna Bean Veatch's social events, which she bills as "unusual social events" for introverts. If you've never been, the whole point is to take the pressure off meeting new people. There's a dance floor, a snack table to hang out at, and an "introverts' room" where you can make crafts if you're not feeling the crowd. You can also bring a sweetheart along if that makes you more comfortable.
Veatch runs these across the Seattle area, with editions in Bellingham and a queer edition as well. The series has been around for a while—it celebrated its 10th anniversary with a "PROM" party in 2025—and has been featured in the Seattle Times and The Evergray. This particular gathering is part of the 8/4 series of social events at the Abbey, so it's one of several coming through the venue.
As for the venue itself, Fremont Abbey Arts Center is a nonprofit 501c3 community organization that's been around since 2005. They do a mix of intimate seated concerts, modern dance, and multi-arts shows, alongside weddings, receptions, auctions, and galas. It's a neighborhood spot that keeps a pretty wide variety of things on its calendar.

One thing to keep in mind: these gatherings are 21+ and they usually sell out in advance, so if you're planning to go, it's better to grab your spot early. Tickets run from $10 to $30, and the night runs from 8 PM to 10 PM on Saturday, October 10.
