A structured, fun, and weird social gathering for adults to meet and connect, curated by Jenna Bean Veatch.
The Not-Creepy Gathering for People Who Want to Fall in Love is at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center on Saturday, October 24, from 5 PM to 7 PM. It's a structured, fun, and weird social gathering for adults to meet and connect, curated by Jenna Bean Veatch.
If you're not familiar with the name, Veatch has appeared in the Seattle Times, and her gatherings have drawn acts like The Evergray. The Not-Creepy Gatherings sit alongside Abbey Arts Presents' wider program of social and community events, which has included The Moth StorySLAM, The Round—a multi-arts show of music, poetry, and painting—Bandit Theatre Improv, and The Wecelium Wellness Sound Baths. It's a bit of a different animal from a standard mixer, with the "structured" part of the description doing a lot of the heavy lifting: it's a curated evening rather than just a room full of people hoping for a conversation to start on its own.

Abbey Arts Presents has been bringing live music, arts, and community events to Seattle and the Pacific Northwest since 2005, operating as a non-religious 501c3 nonprofit. The Gathering is one of their social offerings, and it's held at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center, 4272 Fremont Ave N, in the Fremont neighborhood. Doors open around 4:30 PM, so you've got a half-hour to settle in before things get going at 5 PM. The whole thing wraps by 7 PM, making it an early evening affair that doesn't eat up your whole Saturday night.
