A live horror movie experience where guests solve clues and sip themed cocktails in a gothic, interactive narrative across themed rooms.
The Nightmare Bar opens at the DAR Rainier Chapter House on October 9 and runs through October 31, with sessions Thursday through Sunday. It's billed as a live horror movie experience: 90 minutes of cocktails, clues, and surprises. You're dropped into an interactive challenge inspired by gothic tales, classic cinema, and horror tropes, and your choices drive the narrative as you move across themed rooms.
It's not a passive thing. You'll answer ringing payphones, decode messages broadcast on haunted televisions, and scour hidden drawers for clues, all while sipping devilishly themed cocktails and spooky nibbles. The 2026 version has been upgraded by a brand-new creative team, and the experience now takes you through candlelit parlours, eerie surprises, and encounters with mysterious masked strangers. Costumes are strongly encouraged, so it's a good excuse to break out something from the back of the closet.
