The Holdup, a San Jose artist blending hip-hop, indie, reggae and pop, performs live at Hidden Hall as part of the BUYING TIME Tour.
The Holdup plays Hidden Hall on Friday, October 16, as part of the BUYING TIME Tour. The bill includes Dylan Reese and Lot 49, with the show starting at 7 PM.
If you've heard the name but aren't sure where it fits, here's the thing: The Holdup is a solo project, not a full band. It's the work of Michael Garmany, a San Jose native who writes, produces, performs, and engineers everything himself. He describes his sound as groovy, melody-driven pop that pulls from R&B, reggae, and hip-hop. It's easy to mistake it for a group effort, but it's a one-man studio operation that's sold out venues across the U.S. and put up more than 60 million streams worldwide.
That one-man setup is exactly what he's bringing to Seattle. The set is part of the BUYING TIME Tour, and with Dylan Reese and Lot 49 on the bill, there are three acts to work through before the night is done. The whole thing goes down at Hidden Hall, 400 N 35th St, in the Fremont neighborhood.
