A live music night featuring The Floor Is Not Lava, with supporting acts Dancing Hearts and Stargazy Pie at Tim's Tavern.
The Floor Is Not Lava headline Tim's Tavern on Friday, October 23, with Dancing Hearts and Stargazy Pie filling out the bill. It's a three-band night at the West Seattle spot, and the opening slot belongs to Stargazy Pie, a Seattle indie/rock band that's been playing since 2019. They've built their sound around shredding guitars and double-bass drumming, and they've picked up a few local nods along the way: the People's Choice award at the 2022 ShoreLake Battle of the Bands and a spot in MoPop's Sound Off! 2023.
Right now, Stargazy Pie is in the studio working on a follow-up to their 2021 record, Butterfly Hand Grenade. They've got Gordon Raphael behind the mixing desk for this one, a producer who's worked with The Strokes, Regina Spektor, and Sky Cries Mary. If you're familiar with those names, you've got a sense of the company they're keeping on this new set of songs.
