The Dusty 45s live performance at Tim's Tavern as part of the Dusty Thursdays series.
The Dusty 45s play Tim's Tavern on Thursday, October 29, as part of the venue's Dusty Thursdays series. The night is free, all-ages, and no cover.
If you've never come across them, the band has been playing around Seattle for nearly three decades. They started out in the city's dive bars and eventually moved to national stages, playing a mix of gritty rock 'n' roll and heartfelt storytelling. Along the way, they've been on KEXP and shared bills with Adele, Brandi Carlile, Wanda Jackson, and John Prine. The current lineup, which they call Dusty Version 6.0, is fronted by singer-songwriter Billy Joe Huels, with Kohen Burrill on drums and vocals, Robin Cady on upright bass, and Rod Cook on lead guitar and vocals.
There's a new record on the horizon, too. The band is set to release All the Beauty In Between on November 22, and the title track comes from a song Huels wrote during the 2020 pandemic. It was produced by Ryan Leyva, who also goes by Johnny Nails, at Seattle's Studio Litho. This show falls within the Dusty Thursdays series, which runs from mid-April through December 31.
