Concert by Alex Stephens, known as Strawberry Guy, a Welsh-born impressionist singer-songwriter based in Liverpool, performing his orchestral soundscapes.
Strawberry Guy plays the Neptune Theatre on Monday, December 7, 2026. It's a solo show, and the name is a stage name: Strawberry Guy is Alex Stephens, a Welsh-born songwriter based in Liverpool who handles everything himself. He builds lush, orchestral soundscapes as a one-man operation, and he's coming back to the US after touring here in 2022.
If you're not familiar with the sound, it's dream pop with a classical lean. Stephens draws on 19th-century Romantic composers and figures like Debussy and Ravel, so the music has more in common with an impressionist painting than a standard indie song. His debut album, Sun Outside My Window, came from the simple things that make him happy—and it got its title from the band Her's, who named it after his taste in milkshakes. Since then, it's picked up more than 2 million monthly Spotify listeners, with "Mrs Magic" reaching number 13 and 30 million streams.
Because he's a solo performer, the whole thing is his own doing. He's the one layering the orchestral textures and writing the songs, so the set is a direct look at how he puts them together. He's toured the US before, and this is another stop on that path.
