Festival of solo artists with performances, workshops and immersive pieces across three days.
Starstuff takes over Kerry Hall in Seattle starting Friday, October 23, for a three-day festival of solo artists. It's built around performers working alone on stage, and the programming spreads across those three days rather than stacking everything into a single night.
There are three different ways to experience it. The performances are the core—solo artists taking the stage one after another. Then there are the workshops, where you can get a bit closer to how the work gets made. And then there are the immersive pieces, the kind of things you walk through rather than just sit and watch. If you're only around for one day, you can pick and choose; if you're there for all three, you can see how the different parts fit together.
Because it's a solo festival, the focus stays on the individual performer. You're seeing one person on stage at a time, which changes the energy from a typical group show—it's just the artist and whatever they've brought with them. That's the whole point of the festival, and it's what ties the performances, the workshops, and the immersive pieces together under one roof.
