Soft Vein headlines their West Coast US tour with special guests Modele and Chalice Sect, plus DJ Oliver D Place.
Soft Vein headline The Funhouse on Friday, November 6, as part of their West Coast US tour. They're the main draw of the night, but they aren't playing alone: Modele and Chalice Sect open for them, and DJ Oliver D Place is on the decks. The whole thing is put on by YES Music Productions.
If you're not familiar with Soft Vein, they describe their sound as a blend of synth pop, dark wave, romance and cynicism. That's a fair amount of ground to cover in one set—the synth pop side points toward danceable melodies, the dark wave toward something moodier and more atmospheric, and the romance and cynicism working together to give the lyrics their edge. It's the kind of bill that works well when you're in the mood for something that leans into the night rather than fighting it.
With Modele and Chalice Sect on the bill, the night builds toward Soft Vein's headline slot, and DJ Oliver D Place keeps things moving in between. It's a full lineup for one evening, so you'll get a few different acts before the main set even starts. The whole night is billed as a 21+ event, so make sure you've got your ID on you before you head out.

The Funhouse is at 109 Eastlake Ave E, and the doors open at 8 PM, with the music starting at 9 PM. The show runs until 2 AM, so it's a long one—plenty of room for the openers and the headliner to take their time. If you're planning to catch everything from the first note, getting there closer to 8 PM is your best bet.
