Concert by the shoegaze and alt-rock duo smush, part of their 2026 US tour.
smush play The Black Lodge on Thursday, October 29, at 7 PM. It's a single-act bill, with the Brooklyn duo taking the whole night for themselves.
If you're not familiar, smush is a shoegaze and alt-rock duo fronted by siblings Emily and Atley King. They've built their sound around that specific intersection of the two: the loud, washed-out walls of sound that define shoegaze and the more structured, song-driven approach of alternative rock. It's a family affair at the center of it, with the King siblings handling the front of the room.
The Seattle date is one stop on an 11-date US tour that runs from October 9 through November 15, 2026. Along the way, they've shared the circuit with a long list of similar shoegaze and alt-rock acts: Julie, She's Green, Wisp, Fleshwater, her new knife, Clarion, Panchiko, Midrift, Trauma Ray, Glare, and They Are Gutting A Body of Water. That's a wide spread of names, but they all sit in that same general neighborhood of loud guitars and hazy vocals.
