Sex Pistols reunion with original members Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock, featuring Frank Carter.
Sex Pistols are playing Showbox SoDo on Monday, October 12, and it's a particular version of the band. This is a reunion of original members Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock, with Frank Carter taking over on vocals. If you're wondering how that works, it's the three original instrumentalists back together, with Carter stepping in to front the group.
For those who know the history, that lineup brings back the core sound of the early records. Steve Jones on guitar, Paul Cook on drums and Glen Matlock on bass were the engine room behind the band's first recordings, and they're the ones returning here. Frank Carter is the new voice in the mix, so the set will be those songs with him on the mic.
They aren't the only ones on the bill. Starcrawler is opening the night, so you'll get two bands in one go. Starcrawler has been touring their own material, and they'll be warming up the room before the Pistols take the stage.
