A tribute concert to The Last Waltz benefitting Northwest Harvest, with guest artists and a full band and horn section.
Seattle's Tribute to The Last Waltz returns to The Neptune Theatre on Saturday, November 28, for a benefit concert. It's a tribute to The Last Waltz, the legendary farewell show by The Band, and it's a big ensemble production rather than a small club set. The core band consists of Robbie Christmas on guitar and vocals, Michael Rognlie on bass, and Jasen Samford on drums, with a full horn section led by Ivan Molton to fill out the sound.
That core is joined by a long list of guest artists from across the Pacific Northwest music scene. Melanie Radford of Built to Spill, Eric Howk of Portugal. The Man, Cameron Lavi-Jones of King Youngblood, Curt Krause of edmund wayne, Ethan Anderson of Massy Ferguson, and Danny Oleson of Exohxo all make appearances. The guest spots are a key part of how the show works, pulling in different voices from around the region to round out the bill.
The project was co-founded by Jasen Samford and Leif Dalan, and this isn't its first time at the Neptune—the band played there back in 2017 and 2018. Every dollar from ticket sales goes to Northwest Harvest, the regional food bank, so the whole thing is a fundraiser for a local cause.
