High-energy improv comedy battle where audience suggestions shape every scene, staged by Unexpected Productions.
Seattle Theatresports 2026 is running on Friday and Saturday nights at Unexpected Productions, 1428 Post Alley at the Gum Wall in Pike Place Market. It's a late-night slot, 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM, and it stays on the calendar throughout October and November, so you've got plenty of weekends to choose from.
Theatresports is billed as Seattle's high-energy improv battle: a fast, funny, no-rules showdown in which the audience's suggestions shape every scene. The format is a trademark of Keith Johnstone, exclusively licensed by the International Theatresports Institute. The shows are staged by Unexpected Productions, a Seattle improv company that says it has developed its philosophy of improvisation over 43 years of improvising in the city, at its venue in Pike Place Market.
Because it's a battle, the energy stays high—two teams going head-to-head with nothing scripted. The audience provides the prompts, and the performers build scenes from them on the fly, so no two nights ever end up the same. If you've never seen it, the whole thing is built around the crowd's input, and the late-night timing fits that vibe. It's a good one to catch on a weekend when you're already downtown and looking for something to do after dinner.
