A guided walk to view temporary sculptures and art installations across the grounds of Seattle Center.
Seattle Center is hosting its Seattle Center Sculpture Walk on Sunday, August 30, 2026, with five temporary installations spread across the grounds. It's part of the Center's Temporary Art Program, which they run with the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture to bring rotating art to the public spaces. The commissions are awarded through a competitive process, and the funding comes from the Center's 1% for Arts Funds, with support from Climate Pledge Arena and the Seattle Kraken.
This year's walk draws on local and cultural themes. At Theatre Commons, Will Jewett's Find Your Angle features lounge chairs leaning at different angles in shades of blue. Over at Artists at Play Plaza, Morgan Madison's Cambia is a tree-stump sculpture that references the Pacific Northwest's evergreens and the shingle-clad architecture of MoPOP. In Founders Court, Teruko Nimura's Koi No Taki Nobori brings together 100 hand-made carp kites; the title comes from the Japanese proverb "carp climbing a waterfall," a symbol of perseverance tied to the Children's Day festival.
The other two pieces lean into text and craft. Megan Prince's Shifting Ribbons: Red Ratchet Strap Remnant Relationship 5 is the fifth iteration of a work that inscribes poetry directly into its materials, and you'll find it in the Poetry Garden. Up on the Fisher Pavilion rooftop, Christy Caravaglio's Play of Color weaves acrylic yarn into welded wire fencing, a piece she says was inspired by soccer.

Since the sculptures are scattered across the grounds, the best way to see them is to make a day of it and wander from one to the next. The walk is free, and it runs all day on Sunday, August 30.
