Concert featuring Ryan Oakes and MISSIO on the Love & Heartbreak Tour, with opener Wrung.
Ryan Oakes plays The Funhouse on Friday, December 11, with MISSIO and Wrung opening. It's a double bill that puts two very different kinds of electronic-leaning acts on the same stage, so you get a few different moods in one night.
Oakes is a Virginia-born, Los Angeles-based vocalist, rapper, and multi-instrumentalist. He describes his sound as sitting at the crossroads of hip-hop and hard rock, pushed along by electronic experimentation and pop appeal. He's racked up nearly half a billion streams and released his full-length debut album, Wake Up, in 2023.
Sharing the bill is MISSIO, the project of Austin duo Matthew Brue and David Butler. They released their debut Loner through RCA in May 2017, and its lead single, "Middle Fingers," became a global radio hit after debuting on Conan O'Brien's late-night show and reaching number nine on the Billboard Alternative Charts. Since then, the duo has put out three full-length albums, earned an R.I.A.A. gold record for "Everybody Gets High," and toured Europe, Russia, and Mexico, playing festivals like Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Firefly alongside MUSE, 30 Seconds To Mars, and Nothing But Thieves. This stop is part of their Love & Heartbreak Tour.
