A Pride Night performance of the award-winning musical Operation Mincemeat, a hilarious true story about a secret mission that won World War II.
Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical is coming to the 5th Avenue Theatre for a run from February 10 to 21, 2027, with a Pride Night performance on Sunday, February 14, at 7 PM. It's a first national tour co-presented by The 5th Avenue Theatre Company and Seattle Theatre Group.
The show is set in 1943 and tells the true story of the secret mission that helped win World War II. It's a fast-paced, funny take on a real piece of history, and the production describes it as a meeting of Singin' in the Rain and Strangers on a Train—so you've got the musical comedy side and the suspenseful, slightly twisted side running together. The book, music, and lyrics are by David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson, and Zoë Roberts; Robert Hastie directs and Jenny Arnold handles the choreography.
It's arriving here with a fair bit of momentum behind it. It won an Olivier Award for Best New Musical in London and a 2025 Tony Award on Broadway, and it's been billed as the best-reviewed show in West End history, with 88 five-star reviews. Entertainment Weekly named it the #1 Broadway Show of 2025, so it's coming to Seattle after a very successful run across the pond and on New York's biggest stages.
