Psychedelic funk band Pigeons Playing Ping Pong performs live at The Showbox in Seattle, with support from Sqwerv.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong play The Showbox on Friday, October 23, with Sqwerv opening. The Baltimore five-piece describes their sound as psychedelic funk, a mix of soaring guitar solos, danceable grooves, and exploratory jamming. It's the kind of music that's as much about the dance floor as it is about the jam, and that combination has earned them a devoted following they call The Flock.
The lineup has stayed together for nearly two decades: 'Scrambled Greg' Ormont on vocals and guitar, Jeremy Schon on guitar and vocals, Ben Carrey on bass and vocals, and Alex 'Gator' Petropulos on drums and vocals. The fifth member is Jon Brady on keys and vocals, a longtime collaborator who became an official part of the band after a surprise on-stage proposal during Domefest. Their eighth studio album, Feed The Fire, showcases their sharpened musicianship, and they're endorsed by PRS Guitars, D'Addario Strings, Soultone Cymbals, Maxon FX, and RUNA Tea.
