A night of punk and math-rock featuring Octopoulpe, Big Time and Safety Kill at Seattle's historic Central Saloon.
Octopoulpe headlines The Central Saloon on Wednesday, October 14, with Big Time and Safety Kill opening. It's a punk-rock bill in one of the city's oldest rooms, and the headliner is a bit of a wild card. Octopoulpe emerged from a fish tank in Seoul in 2015, blending math-rock and hardcore punk. The half-naked performer uses his drums to control additional instruments, lights, and video projections around him, sharing the stage with digital alter egos and a rotating lineup of special guests. It's a one-man operation that builds out into a full show.
Big Time and Safety Kill are both Seattle punk-rock acts, so the night stays in that high-energy, loud-guitar territory from start to finish. The venue is The Central Saloon, which opened in 1892 and is Seattle's oldest bar. It's survived earthquakes, prohibition, and over a century of patronage, its classic mahogany bar still seating blue-collar workers and businessmen alike. The show is 21+.
