Live blues-based rock performance by North Beach Gritty at Barboza, a 200-capacity venue in Seattle.
North Beach Gritty play Barboza on Thursday, October 15, with Hillside 77 and Love Letters opening. It's a local bill for a local band: North Beach Gritty is a blues-based rock group from Seattle, fronted by writer, singer, and guitarist Josh Braff. He's joined by Henry LaVallee on drums, Nick Powell on guitar, and Geoff Ott on bass.
If you're coming to them through their records, there's a bit of a catalog to work from. Their debut album, Soap Box Tower, was recorded at London Bridge Studio here in Seattle and produced by Ott. Since then, they've put out the EP For Real and the single "Maybe Don't," so the set has plenty to pull from across their releases. With two guitars and a rhythm section behind them, it's a full-band sound built on that blues-rock foundation.

Barboza is the 200-capacity sister venue to Neumos, so it's a small room. The show is 21 and over, and doors open at 7:30 PM.
