Neurosis, the post-metal icons, return with their new album 'An Undying Love For A Burning World', supported by Great Falls, with Aaron Turner on vocals and guitar.
Neurosis play Showbox SoDo on Sunday, November 29, with Great Falls opening. It's part of a major U.S. tour running from October through January, so this is their one Seattle date on the run.
The set follows An Undying Love For A Burning World, which the band describes as their first new release in a decade and a statement of rebirth. Aaron Turner, whose legacy is intertwined with the band, is back on vocals and guitar. The record was tracked by Scott Evans at Studio Litho here in Seattle and mixed at his Antisleep Audio in Oakland. The band has been clear about one thing: this isn't a reunion, because they never broke up.
Before this tour, Neurosis played their first show in seven years at the Fire in the Mountains festival in Montana, where they performed at the invitation of Firekeeper Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to reducing youth suicide in Indian Country. Billed as post-metal icons, they bring a crushing atmosphere to the room, and this date is one stop on a tour that spans from October through January.
