Concert by the electro-pop duo Marian Hill at The Crocodile in Seattle, featuring their signature blend of R&B, jazz and hip-hop influences.
Marian Hill play The Crocodile on Saturday, February 27, 2027, starting at 6 PM. The duo is Jeremy Lloyd and Samantha Gongol, and they've been working together since high school. Lloyd handles the music, lyrics, and production; Gongol takes the music, lyrics, and vocals. On stage, they flip the usual setup on its head: a woman on a mic and a man with a laptop.
They signed to Republic Records in early 2015 and released their debut album, Act One, which blends blues, bass, acoustic, and digital sounds. Two years before that, they wrote and recorded "Whisky" in Lloyd's parents' basement. Their sound mixes blues harmonies, sparse hip-hop drums, horns, and intimate vocals, and they describe what they bring to the stage as an electro-pop blend of avant-garde R&B and jazz influences.
